- What they are: reward points shared across the eFootball series, not an in-game currency you spend from the shop
- Where they come from: events, mainly
- What they get you: players (including Show Time cards), coins and items
- The catch: you must link a KONAMI ID, and you exchange them on the web rather than inside the app
- Link once, linked forever: the link between your game account and a KONAMI ID cannot be undone
What are eFootball Points?
eFootball Points are reward points that carry across the eFootball series — eFootball itself, eFootball CHAMPION SQUADS and the J.League title all pay into the same pool. They are exchanged for players, coins and items.
They are the reason the game feels like it has three currencies. It originally had two: GP and Coins. Points were added later, and they are tied to a KONAMI ID rather than to your game account. That is why they behave differently to everything else — and why so many players are not sure what they are for.
Points are exchanged through a web page, not from the shop menu. If you have been looking for them in the store, that is why you could not find them.
What eFootball Points are used for
Two things.
| What you get | |
|---|---|
| Exchange for players | Points buy players outright, Show Time cards among them. For a free-to-play squad this is the appeal: a strong card without a pack and without luck. |
| Exchange for coins and items | Points also convert into eFootball Coins and into items, so they are never wasted even when no player on the list appeals. |
Because they convert into coins, points are effectively a slow, free line into the paid currency — which is exactly why they are worth claiming.
How to get eFootball Points
Events. Points come as event rewards, so the way to accumulate them is to keep clearing whatever is running.
How to use eFootball Points
1. Link a KONAMI ID
Points cannot be used until your game account is linked to a KONAMI ID.
Once your eFootball account is linked to a KONAMI ID, the link is permanent. Choose the ID carefully before you confirm — especially if you have more than one.
2. Exchange on the web
The exchange does not happen inside the app. Tapping an item opens a web page, and the flow runs there:
| 1 | Tap the item you want (for example, 25 eFootball Coins). |
| 2 | Allow information to be shared between the app and the website. |
| 3 | Tap Exchange. |
| 4 | Confirm on the next screen. |
| 5 | Done — the item is credited. |
The web page locks to landscape while you are in it, which makes it awkward to read on a phone. It is not you doing something wrong; the flow is simply clumsy.
Summary
- Points are shared across the eFootball series and come mainly from events.
- They exchange for players, coins and items.
- You need a KONAMI ID, and the exchange happens on the web, not in the app.
- Linking a KONAMI ID is permanent.
