- What it is: the free currency, earned by playing. GP cannot be bought with money
- What it buys: Standard players and Standard managers, Special Training, roster slots and shop items
- How to earn it: login bonus, events, missions, and releasing players you do not use
- Spend it on a manager first if you are new or free-to-play — a manager lifts the whole squad
- The expensive one: expanding your roster costs 500,000 GP for 50 slots
What is GP in eFootball?
GP — Game Points — is the currency you earn from matches and events. It is the counterpart to eFootball Coins, and the difference between them is the thing to remember:
| GP | eFootball Coins | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Match and event rewards | Rewards, plus real-money purchase |
| Can you buy it? | No | Yes |
| Mainly spent on | Standard players and managers | Packs, paid items |
Your GP balance is the number next to the G icon at the top of the screen.
Because it cannot be topped up, GP is the currency worth planning. Coins you can always buy more of; GP only comes with time.
What GP is used for
| What it does | Cost | |
|---|---|---|
| Sign players | Acquire Standard players | Varies by player |
| Sign managers | Acquire Standard managers | Varies by manager |
| Special Training | Pass a player’s level and additional skills to another player | Varies by the player used |
| Expand your roster | Adds 50 slots, up to a maximum of 900 | 500,000 GP per 50 |
| Buy items | Avatars, position and skill tokens and so on | Varies by item |
Special Training is permanent
Special Training carries the experience and the additional skills of one player over to another. The player used as material is removed from your squad and cannot be recovered, and the GP cost rises with how much that player has been developed. Used on a card you have finished with, it is the fastest way to push a card you intend to keep.
Roster slots start at 500
You begin with 500 slots and can expand to 900, in blocks of 50 for 500,000 GP. It is the single most expensive thing GP buys, so most players put it off.
How to earn GP
| How it works | |
|---|---|
| Login bonus | Simply logging in each day. |
| Event rewards | Clearing whatever event is running. |
| Missions | The mission list sits at the bottom right of the home screen. Meet the condition, collect the GP. |
| Releasing players | Release players you do not use. The amount depends on the player. |
| Apology items | KONAMI hands out GP after bugs and outages from time to time. |
Releasing unused players is the one most people leave on the table. A squad full of duplicates from free packs is GP sitting still.
What to spend GP on first
If you are new, or playing without spending money, put your GP into a manager before anything else.
The reasoning is simple: you have several ways to add players — packs, tokens and free rewards — but Standard managers come almost entirely from GP. A manager also raises the whole squad rather than one slot, and plenty of Standard managers are genuinely strong.
It consumes the material player permanently. Use cards you have finished with, not ones you might want back.
Summary
- GP is earned by playing and cannot be bought.
- It buys Standard players and managers, Special Training, roster slots and items.
- Login, events, missions and releasing players are the ways to earn it.
- Managers first for new and free-to-play squads.
