- GP: earned by playing. Cannot be bought. Standard players and managers
- eFootball Coins: the paid currency. Packs and paid items
- eFootball Points: series-wide reward points from events, exchanged on the web for players, coins and items
- Why three? The game shipped with two. Points were added later so that players would create a KONAMI ID
- The one that catches people out: Points need a KONAMI ID, and that link cannot be undone
The three currencies at a glance
| GP | eFootball Coins | eFootball Points | |

| Buy with money? | No | Yes | No |
| Where it comes from | Matches, events, missions, releasing players | Purchase, login bonus, weekly Point Exchange, events | Events |
| Mainly spent on | Standard players and managers, Special Training, roster slots | Packs, paid items | Players, coins, items |
| Where you spend it | In game | In game | On the web, after linking a KONAMI ID |
| Shared across titles | No | No | Yes — across the series |
Why the game has three currencies
It did not start that way. eFootball originally had two: GP, earned by playing, and Coins, bought with money. That split is the ordinary one, and it is easy to follow.
eFootball Points came later, and they are tied to a KONAMI ID rather than to your game account. That is why they behave unlike the other two — earned in one place, spent in another, through a web page rather than the shop. Most of the confusion around eFootball’s currencies traces back to this one addition.
Which one do you actually need?
You want a specific new card
That is Coins. Packs are bought with coins, and coins are the only currency you can top up on demand.
You want to strengthen the squad without spending
That is GP, and a manager first. Managers lift every player at once and come almost entirely from GP.
You have points and do not know what to do with them
Exchange them. Points convert into coins, so even when no player on the exchange list appeals, they are never wasted. Link a KONAMI ID first — and be aware that link is permanent.
Common mix-ups
| What people think | What is actually true |
|---|---|
| “Coins and GP are the same thing” | They are separate balances. Standard players and managers cost GP; packs cost coins. You cannot convert GP into coins. |
| “I can buy GP if I run out” | You cannot. GP has no purchase option at all — this is the whole point of it. |
| “My points vanished” | Points are exchanged on the web, not in the app’s shop. If you have been looking in the store, they were never going to be there. |
| “Free coins are impossible” | The Point Exchange gives 25 coins every week for free, and events pay coins as well. Amounts change with updates, so check the in-game notice. |
Summary
- GP is earned and cannot be bought; Coins can be bought; Points come from events across the series.
- Points are the odd one out because they were added later, for KONAMI ID.
- Points exchange on the web, and the KONAMI ID link is permanent.
- GP and Coins are not interchangeable — GP for Standard players and managers, coins for packs.
